ISO Management Systems Overview
  • In this half-day training you will learn about the ISO 9001:2000 Edition of the Quality Management Systems Standard and how to apply the requirements to your business.
  • During this introduction to the ISO 9001:2000 Standard you will hear an overview of the nature of the standard, learn why it is important to the future of global business, and discover the fundamental requirements for implementation of the standard. 
  • Topics covered include: The purpose of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO); Highlights of each ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems requirements; Implementation activities for each related management system element.

Understanding ISO 9001:2000
  • In this full-day training you will learn the concepts of ISO 9001:2000 and how the standard can become a valuable part of your business management system.
  • Understand how the process approach, in conjunction with the requirements, can provide benefits for your organization and for your customers. 
  • Participants engage in activities that create an understanding of each element and illustrate the organizational and individual benefits of a business management system.
  • Topics covered include: Why the International Organization for Standardization exists; The intent of the ISO 9001:2000 Standard; The use of the guidelines; How the ISO 9001:2000 Standard applies to different organizations; A practical application of each of the Standard’s elements and how it relates to the intent of the Standard.

ISO 9001:2000 Internal Quality Auditing
  • In this two day training learn the concepts of ISO 9001:2000 and how the Standardcan be a valuable part of any business management system.
  • Acquire the skills to conduct successful internal quality system audits for ISO 9001:2000.
  • Use innovative exercises to help you thoroughly understand the purpose and role of the internal quality auditor.
  • Topics covered include: Basic quality system terminology; The process approach to auditing; Effective communication skills and techniques, including effective questioning and conflict management; Plan, prepare and performing the internal quality audit.

Effective Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis
  • In this one day training you will learn important techniques for developing and managing an effective corrective and preventive action program.
  • Identifying, recording and taking effective action to eliminate quality system errors are critical steps in business management practices of today and of the future.
  • Understand how systematic approaches in problem solving can help your organization enhance customer satisfaction through continual improvement.
  • Learn to follow-up on the effectiveness of the corrective/preventive action.
  • Topics covered include: Definition of corrective actions and preventive actions; When corrective action is necessary; Identification and recording of non-conformances; Various problem-solving techniques; Analyzing corrective action for continual improvement.

Environmental Safety and Management Overview
  • This half-day overview will cover the essential components of an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System or OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health, Safety Management System.
  • Discussion will surround elements of the standards, typical timelines for implementation, potential obstacles, resources needed, costs associated with registration and the benefits associated with either program.
  • Topics covered include: Introduction to environmental and safety management; Highlights of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001; Implementation activities for each management system; Similarities between ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 9001.

Understanding ISO 14001
  • This one-day training provides you with a full understanding of the ISO 14001 Standard and principles of Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • An excellent lead-in to RIMES ISO 14001 Internal Auditing, this workshop presents detailed information on elements of the Standard, how to implement an EMS, the road to registration, common non-conformances and other topics.
  • The full day format allows the instructor to present more detail than in the half-day Executive Overview.
  • Topics covered include: The ISO 14001 elements and the ISO 14004 Guidance document; Key issues in environmental management; Moving beyond compliance; Difficult areas of EMS development including aspects and impacts and operational controls; The road to registration: typical milestones in the development of an ISO 14001 EMS; Integrating ISO 9001 with ISO 14001: benefits and difficulties; Typical EMS Manuals: What type of documentation is needed?; Auditing: What do auditors look for?; Employee training: State-of-the-art methods to train your employees. 

ISO 14001 Gap Analysis (On-Site Assessment)
  • If you plan to implement ISO 14001, we recommend that you locate areas of substandard performance before being faced with an official audit.
  • An RAB-QSA Lead EHS Auditor will perform the GAP Analysis using a questionnaire checklist to audit the 17 elements of ISO 14001.
  • The result is a detailed report of conformance and non-conformance to the Standard that includes recommendations for improving each issue identified.

ISO 14001 - Internal Auditor Training
  • This two-day training covers the concepts of ISO 14001 and helps you acquire the skills to conduct a successful internal audit of an environmental management system (EMS).
  • Use innovative exercises to help you thoroughly understand the purpose and role of the internal environmental auditor.
  • Understand practical application of an EMS and how it relates to the intent of the ISO 14001 Standard.
  • When the workshop is delivered on-site, an audit of your company’s system is included.
  • Topics covered include: Basic environmental management system terminology; The process approach to auditing; Effective communication skills and techniques, including effective questioning and conflict management; Plan, prepare and performing the internal environmental management system audit. 

ISO 14001 - Jump Start Program (On-Site Assistance)
  • The objective of this program is to conduct a 3-day working session to complete the planning elements of an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS). 
  • The program follows a step-by-step managed process that can be implemented at a nominal cost with minimal use of internal resources. 
  • Following the program, your company will be in a good position to complete its EMS and acquire ISO 14001 shortly thereafter. 
  • The primary benefit of the program is that a company can identify and rank its environmental aspects in the first two-day period. 
  • This is the most critical component in getting your EMS implementation project off the ground.  
  • Establishing objectives and targets will be completed during this period as well.
  • Day 3 is typically conducted one month following days 1 and 2, and is used to work on any major elements not completed. 

RC 14001 and Responsible Care® Management System Overview
  • This half-day overview for the Chemical Industry, and Partner Companies, will cover the essential components of an RC 14001 Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Management System or Responsible Care® Management System Technical Specification.
  • Discussion will surround elements of the standards, typical timelines for implementation, potential obstacles, resources needed, costs associated with registration and the benefits associated with either program.
  • Topics covered include: Introduction to environmental and safety management; Highlights of RC 14001 and Responsible Care® Management System Technical Specification; Implementation activities for each management system; Similarities between RC 14001, ISO 14001, Responsible Care® Management System, OSHA VPP Star Program, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 9001.
